Curator Notes

The Simpsons: Hit & Run is the licensed open-world title that still circulates as a reference point for early-2000s console adaptation of television properties — Radical Entertainment’s Springfield as a driveable, mission-structured town rather than a pure platform stage. Vivendi Universal Games published the North American PlayStation 2 edition (SLUS-20624) in September 2003. The shelf keeps the optical object because licensed games of this period are easy to treat as disposable. Custody here is deliberate: the pressed disc and keep-case are the form in which the work reached NTSC-U retail, not a later compilation or storefront listing. This filing does not invent a broader Simpsons series map. It records one complete retail edition so the PlayStation 2 collection’s licensed action holdings are not only horror and RPG.

Collection Documentation

Acquired in August 2026 while expanding the PlayStation 2 physical shelf. The retained copy is the North American PlayStation 2 edition published by Vivendi Universal Games (SLUS-20624). It remains complete in box with manual and cover insert, and is kept as the reference copy for this filing. Dedicated artifact views of the individual copy have not yet been filed; the gallery below is held open for that documentation.

Original Hardware
Sony PlayStation 2 · NTSC-U/C
Playback Compatibility
Pressed for North American PlayStation 2 consoles. The retained disc remains the primary access copy.
Preservation Concerns
Optical-disc aging and surface damage remain the principal risks. The disc is stored upright in its original case under stable, dry conditions; printed materials remain housed with the copy.
Edition History
Multiplatform North American release in September 2003; PlayStation 2 serial SLUS-20624. Contemporary Xbox, GameCube, and PC editions are neighboring objects and are not this filing.
Access Status
The original physical edition is out of print and circulates through the secondary market. No current digital edition replaces this North American reference copy.
